Hear me out for mixing Emperor Tim and Spider Tim. Spider Tim does not want any of the Bats to know about his spider form, but Young Justice knows all about it. It started because Greta asked him about the magic she could sense in him and Tim telling them that he had some "thread based magic" and took a few strands of his silk to wrap around Cassie. She had to genuinely try to break out of just 5 loops of this hair thin thread. They ask him why he doesn't use this all the time and Tim simply shrugs, "I can't make a lot of it. The older I get, the more I'll be able to make bur for now? I'm stuck with only a few dozen yards a day." This isn't quite true. He can currently make about 50 yards but it will grow with time.
Months later, they run into a magician who casts an anti magic barrier around them, canceling out Tim's Glamor and he immediately transforms into his spider form. He looks back at himself and then yells, "you rat fucking bastard! Do you have any idea how rude it is to out people as non human who aren't ready to come out yet?! I'm gunna fucking *eat* you!" To which, he does. They do a Q&A as Tim devours his meal in the saftey of Bart's space ship. Tim tells them about how dangerous poachers are to him and why, how his mom is the best ever and what normal spider demon parents do, why he's actually eating the guy, and when someone asks about his civilian ID, Tim says, "I still can't tell you but bow you've seen why. You know what I am. I just told you how much of a problem poachers are. If word gets out that I'm a Spider Demon and one of you guys slip up with my civilian name, it's not just me at stake. It's my mom and her siblings and my cousins and my siblings who I've never met. Our families don't meet up because of how dangerous the poachers are,how they could and would decimate our entire population at the drop of a hat. You think they don't use truth spells on us to try and pry who our family members are out of us? You think they won't use those same spells on you guys to force you to tell them who I am so that they can hunt down and exterminate my family? I can't risk that, even if I trust you guys with this form. But... I can tell you guys that you can call me Tim." Having such a good explanation for why he cant tell them beyond "Batman said I can't" should let up a ton of tension in the future and make when he does eventually tell them all the sweeter.
Tim decides that when he's visiting his planets, he doesn't have to worry about Earth Based Poachers so he uses his spider form. He has to admit that it feels *really* nice to stretch out his limbs for so long and also climb up and down walls. Plus! None of these people know to fear spiders! He doesn't have to worry about looks of disguste or hatred simply for what he is! His citizens still think he's adorable and sweet and small.
His spider form does *not* help with the problems with the GLC because the moment the humans see a picture of him, they are all reeling back. John will never admit that he has a phobia of spiders. Kyle freely says, "it looks like it's a spider demon. There was rumors of one running around back on Earth for a while. I never saw it but if it is, then it's extremely dangerous." And Hal pipes up, "I saw it once and that is definitely the spider demon that was running around. I didn't get to see it for very long, but I was hunting down a magician and saw it fighting that thing. It was horrifying, that thing chopped the guy up with its front, scythe like legs and after it killed the magician, it ate them! And then it vanished. But how did it get into space and become the leader of this empire?"
Hal did see Tim do that. What he didn't see is that fact that the magician was a poacher who was planning to also go after the other Bats thinking that they were definitely creatures too. Of course Tim wouldn't allow his family to be hunted like that by someone who would tell them his greatest secret. So he made sure they couldn't and had a nice snack in the process.
Tim deserves to snack on that magician. That was rude af of them to do that to him (although I doubt they cared and they can't care now that they are dead). Do magicians taste differently? Like static or something?
I'm also curious about how YJ treats Tim's OG form. I bet he oscillates between severely unbothered (it's who he is, why should he care?) to being self conscious (Bats and others have expressed their dislike of spiders and his form could cause him to be taken out by a poacher). He just flips between these two depending on various variables.
I'm also curious about Tim killing and the No Killing Rule. How will Bruce react to this?
I do like the addition you did for GLs. I wonder if they try to reach out to John Constantine about the spider demon taking over the universe. I love Tim and Constantine interactions, ngl

Blue Lock Manga
Scanlation of Chapter 220, "See-Saw Game", just dropped! Chow time!
Thoughts under the cut. There will be two weeks between this release and Chapter 221, which will release in Japan on 7 June I believe.
Previous chapter analyses
I love this goofball. Can't start without saying that.
Anyway, what a chapter. It's very action orientated, and that speaks for itself: holy fuck Kaiser. But as usual, I have brain worms, so I'll share as is routine.
In one chapter, Kaiser collectively reminded the fandom why he's NG11, why he's been manmarked by another NG11 since the beginning of the match, and of the gap between him and the other players. No sweat for the 👑 Also, clear Predator Eyes in action, right? 🐱
It's an excellent play. He scored in spite of being pressed by two defenders, through the legs of another and past the goalkeeper. It got so close to Aiku, man must have feared for his future baby-making capacity 💀
Isagi's good. Kaiser is on his own level.
It's spelt out in the chapter: in the face of opposition from Aiku, Isagi did the rational thing and passed, forsaking a score on his own terms. In much worse circumstances, Kaiser believed in the impossible and scored. This is the fundamental difference in their ego and approach to football. I hope they revisit this theme in the next chapter.
It's going to be titled "Take Me" 👀 I'm dying to know who that refers to, especially if it ends up being shipbait. Ness? Isagi? Hiori? Who knows?
A shout out to our newly minted redhead. He gets clowned on, but I liked seeing him swap to a defensive role. Noodle legs, go! 🍜 It shows how well Ubers, and in particular the former U20s team members, can reforge themselves around new strategies and playstyles.
Also, Aiku is one of those captains with a coaching/affirmative leadership style. He endorses Sendou here, and Niko in the chapter before. Can't help but simp for the guy, even if he's a scumbag in how he treats women. 🐍
I don't have much more to add! Art-wise, it was glorious: Kaiser's goal is rendered vibrantly, from multiple perspectives. As usual, the reader gets a great sense of where everyone is, and their reaction. To the end, Ubers put up a good fight, and as mesmerised as you are by Kaiser, I really enjoy that the artist knows where the other players are in the context of the goal. Great spacial awareness, Nomura-sensei!
My favourite panel outside of His Excellency's is the one where half of Isagi's face is dissolving into puzzle pieces. It's more grotesque than it usually is, maybe showing how pissed off yet amazed he is by Kaiser. I love that Isagi hates him, but doesn't deny his talent. The best sports anime protagonist *pats head*
Random thoughts corner: Yukimiya didn't get much to do, but Lorenzo abandoning his mark is an indicator that he posed a significant threat to the goal. I'm kind of hoping he gets the next BM goal (if BM indeed win). I say him over Kunigami, because Kunigami HAS to get a goal against PXG (else we riot).
Speaking of, Kunigami is specifically mentioned to have vacated the goal area by Isagi. Wonder why? He's a goal poacher, so you'd think he'd be around somewhere... I'm kinda hoping he calls out Isagi for that ball steal last chapter, although that's my bias showing haha. In chp 219, Isagi's rationale for stealing was that Kunigami didn't have the capacity to evade the defenders. But Kunigami's levelled up his dribbling and speed since the Manshine match... I imagine he's nurturing some resentment in that little emo brain of his. Remember, he and Isagi are rivals to unseat Kaiser and become BM's lead striker in the NEL.
...just give us some Kunigami development. PLEASE.
Ness has done absolutely nothing but whinge since chapter 218. Kaiser just proved he doesn't need assists to score... in light of Ness's derailment, is it time for a substitute? manifesting that hiori sub c'mon
Last one: how many Ubers broke ranks this play? Sendou's a forward that ended up tackling Kaiser in the centre back lines. Lorenzo left his mark too. Now, arguably it was his only choice, in light of Yukimiya being unmarked and a valid threat to the goal, while Kaiser remained deep in defender territory, but nevertheless... will we see any remorse from Ubers? Any comment from the GOAT coach himself, Snuffy?
Two weeks until we find out 🥹
Prediction tracker
(alternatively: how wrong can one nerd be week to week?)
Last week, I predicted: Isagi will try to beat Aiku one-on-one, or maybe use Yukimiya as a decoy to do so. This is based on the recurring references to winning one-on-one duels being the key to beating Ubers. Also, Isagi’s got a hang up about passing near the goal, which he’s got to overcome at some point.
What I’m (and mostly everyone else) certain of is, Isagi’s not scoring the next goal. There wasn’t a peep out of Kaiser this chapter… maybe he’ll spring a surprise Kaiser Impact on Ubers while they’re busy fending off Isagi?
Actuality: Isagi passed, Yukimiya gets blocked by Lorenzo. Isagi himself was the decoy, and Kaiser manages to execute a brutal goal.
I got some of it! /copium Kaiser scoring was a foregone conclusion though, so not throwing everything away to go into fortune telling just yet.
Three more chapters for Hiori get subbed in. Otherwise, one of my hats is in danger... 🐑
Chapter 221 will be both teams reckoning with this goal. We'll likely get input from both Ubers and BM, and some sort of change in dynamic--be it a substitution or the coaches opting to play (reeeally doubt this will happen though, unless they get a nudge from Ego). In particular, I'm eager to see how Lorenzo and Hiori process this. Also, someone's going to yell at Isagi. Kunigami or Raichi are my guess.

Would love to read more Thenamesh Pokémon AU! Liked it very much?
Maybe Gil and Thena fighting against a few poachers to protect the Pokémon Gil rescued? And then some cute fluff in th end? :D
"Good work, buddy," Gil smiled, patting Dragonite's arm as it unloaded another few pokemon rescued from nets and traps. The anxious Oddish and Budew bounced down to the ground and hopped around each other. Gil knelt down to them. "I'm glad you're all safe. We have a few supplies with us, and the Chansey will check you out and make sure you're not hurt, okay?"
The grass pokemon gave him a look before moving as a group towards the friendly seeming pink pokemon waiting for them.
Dragonite leaned down to Gil, booping him with his snoot.
"Of course I am," Gil sighed, scribbling on his tablet about their new head count.
Thena was out there - with Teddiursa - battling.
She had volunteered of course, after hearing that some poachers had escaped them from last month. And they weren't in a position to say no to help from one of the best battlers in the region.
Teddiursa had come simply because he was still too young to be left home alone and too anxious to be left at the ranger centre without her for so long.
Even after being with her for a month, the little mama's-boy still preferred to be attached to her when at all possible. It wasn't so surprising, though--normal type pokemon tended to bond very deeply with their caretakers. And for all she said she discouraged it, he had yet to see Thena leave the house without Teddiursa at least seated in the hood of her coat (if not cradled in her arms like a baby).
Dragonite patted Gil's shoulder with a reassuring smile.
"You're right," Gil blew out an anxious breath, adjusting his hat on his head. "I'm just...being paranoid."
"Hey, boss," another ranger called over to him. "We've got a report of another trap getting set off at the base of the mountain!"
"Dragonite!" Gil responded immediately, climbing onto the dragon type's back and flying off the cliff and towards the mountain base. The caves were deep and extensive, but Thena had offered to keep an eye on the bottom entrance, knowing that it would be the easiest route for them to use. "Please, bud, we've gotta hurry!"
Dragonite took a nosedive, flying down to the valley floor at a dangerous angle of descent. He pulled up at the last possible second, flaring his wings out and looping around, even having to run a little as they landed.
Gil leapt off his back, running into the cave at full speed. "Thena!"
"Ursa!"
Gil's blood ran cold as he saw a very familiar head of ears and a pom-pom tail running out of the cave towards him. He leaned down, receiving the little cub in his arms. "What happened?!"
"T-T-Ted-Teddi--"
"Okay, okay," Gil held up a hand, encouraging Teddiursa to take deep breaths with him. The little bear did his best, filling its tiny lungs and keeping its tears at bay. "Buddy, just look at me. Where is Thena?"
The little cub pokemon began at the beginning as Gil took off running again. It told him all about how Thena was patrolling the caves when the ceiling opened up and nets came down. They got a bunch of the Quagsire in the shallow ponds, as well as Thena.
She had taken Teddiursa out of her hood and pushed him through one of the wider loops of the net, insisting he go and get help instead of being caught with her.
"It's okay," Gil reassured the little guy, who was now fully crying as he recounted the sight of his Mama being dragged away from him by bad guys. And that was overlooking the fact that he had relived the landslide that had separated him from his Ursaring pack in the first place.
"Ursa!"
"I know, I'm worried about her too, bud," Gil patted the little bear's head, snuggled into his vest as he ran. "Don't worry, Mama's gonna be just fine."
"Ted!" the little bear nodded, doing away with his tears with their rescue mission in mind. He looked up at Gil, "Teddiursa?"
Well, no, he didn't have pokemon to battle with. He had very little experience with battling, really, having always known he was going to be a pokemon ranger. It just suited him more to be in pokemon care and conservation as opposed to traditional training.
Thena was made for pokemon battling.
She was so strong, and she bonded so deeply with the pokemon in her care. They were an amazing team. She was smart, resourceful, she knew the ups and downs of every pokemon's type and strengths and weaknesses.
"Teddi," Gil breathed deeply, running through the burn in his lungs. "Does she have Gallade with her?"
Teddiursa's eyes sparked at the name of the pokemon it had quickly come to see as an older brother. "Teddi!"
Gil felt a little reassured by that, at least. Thena's partner pokemon was just as strong and just as temperamental as she was. Even if he was in a pokeball, he would know Thena was in danger and fight to protect her.
"Please!" Gil shouted to a Luxray running on a ridge above them. He raised up his badge, "I need your help! My friend-!"
The electric type looked down at them, eyeing them with its intimidating eyes, black fur bristling.
"She got taken by the poachers!" Gil continued to plead with the wild pokemon, which had at least leapt down to come closer to them. "I have to save her. Just give me a ride--you don't have to stick around to fight them with me."
"Lux!"
Teddiursa laughed with excitement as Gil jumped onto the back of the Gleam Eyes pokemon. Gil put a hand on his vest, inside which Teddiursa was snuggled. It raised a paw, pointing with its claw. "Teddiursa!"
"Thena!"
Thena and Gallade were backed up against a wall, in front of the wild Quagsire, both of them with their fists raised. Of course Thena would fight a pokemon poacher with her bare hands, if need be. She and Gallade were ride or die, and had been since he was a shy little ralts.
"Thena!" Gil called out, hoping to offer his help before she started trying to fight a Golbat with her own fists.
"Who the hell-?!"
Gil jumped off Luxray's back as it slid over to them. It did stick around, for which Gil was thankful. It snapped its teeth and crackled with electricity, making the poachers' Golbat a little more wary of them.
"Teddi!"
Thena's eyes went wide with relief as her little bear leapt from Gil's vest into her arms. She spun him around in her arms, holding his head under her chin with his ears brushing against her cheeks. "Oh, thank Arceus you're okay!"
"Teddiursa!" the little bear nuzzled against her. He looked up at Gallade, "ted?"
"Gallade," the fighting/psychic type patted the little bear's head, congratulating him on the job well done.
"Golbat, get us that cub!"
Oh, that was not how this was going to work. Gil held out a hand in front of Thena and Teddiursa. Gallade bent his taller form over them.
"Luxray, thunder fang 'em!"
Gil really did owe the wild pokemon a debt of gratitude. It had really come to his aid, and now really was battling with him. The lynx pokemon leapt into the air, easily sinking its teeth into the Golbats' wings, surging with electricity and making them plummet to the cave ground.
"Let's get outta here!"
"Paralyze them!" Gil pointed, sending the assisting pokemon after them. Its speed spoke for itself, catching the three male poachers and freezing them on the spot with a painful - but non-lethal - dose of static. It wandered back to him more slowly. Gil removed his hat, bowing his head to the pokemon in respect. "Thank you, for helping me save my family."
Perhaps with a family of its own to care for, the pokemon acknowledged Gil in return, before heading deeper into the cave again.
Gil turned, breathing out a sigh of relief as he pulled Thena and Teddiursa into his embrace. He buried his nose against Thena's sunshine hair. "You're okay."
Gallade patted Gil's shoulder, still holding onto its trainer.
Thena laughed faintly as she tried to pull back, only for Gil to wrap his arms around her waist and press his forehead to hers. She could feel the sweat there, and the brim of his hat getting tipped up against her head. "Gil, it's okay. Everyone's okay."
"Ursa," Teddiursa offered in comfort as well, reaching up from Thena's embrace to pat Gil's cheek with his paw.
"Okay," he sniffed, trying to get a hold of himself. Even with Dragonite having gone back to the other rangers, he still had a job to do. "Okay--you're right, w-we should go."
"Gallade," Thena asked with a frown, "could you carry them back with us?"
"Gal," he nodded, knowing that he was the strongest for the job, even with Gil here now. It walked over to the static-y poachers, loading them both up on one of its shoulders.
Thena leaned down to the huddle of terrified Quagsire, just now removing their flippers(?) from their eyes. "You should head into the sub-basement of the caves until this all blows over. Stick together and be careful."
The amphibious pokemon all nodded to her before scurrying off, their tails dragging on the damp cave floors. Gil reached out for her hand. "Let's go."
She nodded, prepared for him to let go of her hand over the course of the long walk back out of the caves. But he never did. She looked down at their joined hands and then up at him.
Gil could feel her looking at him but didn't let go. If anything, he tightened his fingers around hers. "I'm not letting go...not yet."
Thena looked down at the cave floor, smiling into her coat collar and feeling the weight of Teddiursa in her hood. Her cheeks warmed as he threaded their fingers together. "Okay."
Gallade rolled its eyes at them.

Ancient Vlad: “I will make a deal with you, Little Badger… If you ever reveal yourself to the whole World and they DON’T attack you… I will give up on my revenge with humanity… However, if they DO attack you, or you STILL hide from them… You’re only proving my point, that they deserve to die.” ☠️
Eh, I never liked that Danny revealed himself to the whole freaking world. It was one of the few things that I legitimately disliked about Phantom Planet, which I actually didn't hate.
Also Amethyst Ocean 4ever! *cough**cough*
Anyway! I could easily swing with just Amity Park, though. I feel like that'd be enough to prove it.
I prefer it if the rest of the world only knows that Phantom saved them, but not that Phantom is half-human, while Amity knows that Phantom is Danny.
I could also see Amity being sort of the "we protect our own" types. So, they'd keep his secret under lock & key.
Well, most of them.
I guarantee that there would be those who'd hate him for various reasons because that's just how life is.
I remember reading this one fic where a guy despised Phantom. The reason being the collateral from one of Phantom's fights ended up killing someone he loved. Obviously, it wasn't Danny's fault, but people aren't always gonna be reasonable. And even if they do realize that he isn't at fault, some people will just choose to put that hate on him because it makes them feel better having someone to blame for their misery.
Though, I still think that the majority would be in full support of him & many in the APPD would begin to actively take up ghost-hunting training to protect Amity so that Danny doesn't need to do damn near everything.
Which, I tend to see ghosts as being a lot like people in that most are good people while others very much aren't.
And that the ghosts that tend to come out of the portal, the ones that cause trouble, are basically the troublemakers, the rogues, the criminals, ect. Which honestly just ends up perpetuating the belief that all ghosts are evil.
And based on the Vlad we've created here, I don't see him keeping Skulker under his employ after learning that he wishes to skin Danny alive for being such a rare type of ghost.
In fact, I tend to see him more as a big-game poacher than an actual hunter as hunters, real hunters have their thumb on the pulse of ecology & actively try to help keep nature healthy.
Poachers simply do not care.
And, in fact, I believe that he's actively breaking Ghost Zone law by trying to kill & skin Danny. After all, he's trying to kill one of only 2 Halfas, thus making Danny & Vlad a critically endangered species.
That might even be why he was in Walker's prison in the show to begin with.

Once the poacher was handcuffed, the Arcanine gets off him and comes over to the Salazzle, who is thrashing around too much for the officer to free her. She speaks in a gentle motherly voice [It's ok. I know you're scared, but you can trust these humans. We're here to help.] That gets the Salazzle to calm down enough for the officer to get the net off her. Arcanine slowly approaches Ghost and gasps upon seeing Hollow! [Your friend is sick! Please, let these humans help them get better!]
Ghost is watching all the humans with apparent fear, hissing any time one gets too close to them and Hollow. They were terrified that these humans would hurt their sibling further. The Vesils was doing their best to shield the other, mind racing because they didn't know what to do or if they could trust these humans. When the Arcanine speaks to them they are trembling, looking ready to bolt with their twin in tow, [ I... I can't... I can't let them hurt them more...!!]
"Look! It's protecting not just the injured Pokemon guys. Back up a little bit and give it some space so it doesn't feel as threatened."
Ghost is confused until they hear the scared chirp of one of their Shelis siblings. All 5 little ones run to stand around and behind Ghost and Hollow looking terrified despite their less than expressive faces. Instantly they're dropping down to a more defensive position over their siblings, looking ready to go down fighting should they get approached. Seeing the humans backing up a bit let's them breath a bit and looking to their twin then the Salazzle and then the little Shelis. It was apparently overwhelming Ghost badly at all these perceived threats to their family and new friend. Humans had never really treated them well and now they were surrounded by three of them. They were clearly unable to think straight at the moment.
Hollow all the while is breathing more raggedly and struggling to remain focused on what's happening around them. Their injuries felt like they were on fire and they could barely see through the black fog lining their vision. An oh so quiet whine escapes their throat which potentially only the Arcanine and Ghost can hear. It distracts Ghost from the humans surrounding the area to instead look to Hollow, trying to assess what's wrong and giving the humans an opportunity to make a plan to help Hollow.
#;ic#;pokemon verse#//the only way to get Ghost to let the humans near Hollow atm is to knock them out#//that can be either via a sedation shot#//or Arcanine overpowering them in battle#//i'll let you choose how you want to get Ghost away from Hollow#//cause they're definitely not thinking straight out of fear

I have thoughts, and I need to share.
Beast(2022). The movie.
There will be spoilers, you have been warned!
The opening : a bunch of HUMANS, with VEHICLES cannot sneek up on a pride of lions.
The chill lions : two grown lions greeting and playing with the human that raised them is something that totally happens, I've seen it a dozen times. However, I have doubts that they would have been that chill while being that close to the cubs. I have even more doubt about having multiple foreign humans approaching the pride.
The village : Cats in general have a better memory the people think they do. Tiger are most well known for holding grudges and remembering spacific people, but all cats have that potential. That being said I find it hard to believe a single lion would attack a whole village looking for the potchers, mind you that village has been there for years, and the lion would have known that. Could it happen? Sure! Was it believable in the context of the movie? No.
Things in the vehicle : I have no real life frame of reference for this part, I've never been to Africa. However, why the everloving fuck do you not have more then a trank gun? Why is your first aid so small? You mean to tell me that I, a cosplayer, have a med kit twice the size of what you take TO THE AFRICAN BUSH?!?!
Tranck shot : Tranks not working right, especially with large wild animals, is to be expected. Why does the movie not take five seconds to explain that. The lion wasn't giant compared to the others, and didn't look all that great to begin with. Why did the lion act slugish almost immediately after being shot, which isn't how it works, and then suddenly act like nothing happened a few minutes later? Do you know NOTHING about the big ass cat in your movie?
Anti Poacher : I don't like poachers. I have absolutely zero simpathy for anyone who harms an animal. However, the set up of the white guy being an anti was shit. I didn't believe for a second that anyone was an anti till the poachers literally said it. THAT would have been a cool conversation. Leave visual hints, a real weapon in his truck, side eyes whenever poachers come up in conversation. Something. Anything more then what was done. Why the fuck did white guy(I can't remember anyones name) not say something when the poachers showed up? Why didn't the poacher shot him?
Times Idris would have died because lions are kings for a fucking reason : On first sight. Broke the window. On top the truck. Under the truck. When the poachers showed up. When he got in the tree. In the water. The second he thought he was going to OUTRUN a fucking LION. The second he thought he was going to FIGHT a fucking LION. I'm sure I missed some, but this pissed me off most.
Three male lions : The second a foreign lion is spotted by a pride, shit goes down. The two males, being raised by a human, most likely would have automatically attacked the lion going after another human. The whole ass pride is in ear shoot, why the shit would they just sit around and do nothing? And if they didn't see a reason to fight when the foreign lion showedup, why did they bother to help at all?
-
I'm sure I'm missing things that bothered me but whatever. Can we just, not make movies where the animals don't behave like they actually would? Please? There have been big cats that lose their shit. There have been animals that kill, just for fun. But a human, especially without a weapon, is not a challenge to a murder kitty.

Warnings before you jump in
Amputation, blood and a minor getting harmed
But yeah you know how I said I was going to focus on Johto well I lied
Lucas needed to shop for school, summer was almost over, and he only had half of what he needed to get. He was too nervous to ask for help, and his savings needed to be better, he hasn't battled in awhile. Maybe he could just battle and get the money, and he wouldn't be such a burden to Volo or Emmet. He put the small crystal eevee in his pocket and left his tent.
Emmet raises a brow. "You're supposed to relax today, it hasn't even been a week since the poachers came." He jumps down from the tree startling Lucas. "Is everything ok?"
Lucas steps back looking down. "I uh wanted to train my pokemon today." He shows off his three pokeballs on his hip. "School is coming back, and I just want to be prepared." The half truth isn't convincing at all but he hears Emmet sigh.
"I will be coming with you." Emmet's tone leaves no room for any arguments. "If you insist on going, I know a good trail where trainers gather. I will take you there." He looks back to Volo who is in his own little world focused on making new blankets, and rugs. "Volo doesn't want to be disturbed, well I don't want to ruin his concentration."
Lucas nods, afraid of refusing, and anxious about causing Emmet to worry about him. "O-ok lead the way."
……
Lucas was actually doing pretty well with his battles. He had a streak going until he spotted his next opponent. He stepped back, the crowd had thinned considerably, and she knew that and took full advantage. "I-i this is a public place." He whimpers out clutching onto Mittens pokeball.
The woman laughs. "A public place? Everyone but you has left. I made sure of it." She gives a crooked smile summoning two Garchomps from their respective pokeballs. Her mismatched eyes stared through Lucas like he was nothing more than some toy.
Lucas stepped back and he was shaking, this woman was called the ripper. She had nearly killed him before, she didn't pull any punches and he only got away because someone heard him screaming. "Please." He tried to beg but the rest of the words died in his throat as two dragon slashes came at him he managed to dodge one but the other hit him in the chest drawing blood. He really regrets telling Emmet he was fine, and that he should leave.
She shows no emotion as a hyper beam just brushes past her long red hair. "I want him alive, limbs mean nothing, remove them I can get money for that." She raises her hand and forces it down causing her two pokemon to rush Lucas.
Lucas braces and uses another hyper beam that only hits one of the two. He flinched as he felt the claws dig into his side but only for a moment. Emmet was in front of him as he opened his eyes, he looked furious. Lucas felt blood rush out from his side as the claw was forcibly removed. Lucas can't speak as he goes onto one knee.
Emmet's own smile was twisted into something wicked. He lightly patted Lucas's head. "Run now I will handle this." He turns his attention to the two dragons who rush them again seemingly knowing what their owner wanted as soon as she wanted it. Emmet cracks his knuckles and gies all in ignoring the rough skin, and he manages to slice one of their throats leaving them bleeding out on the floor.
The woman sighs. "How unfortunate. I was warned about you." She sounded bored. "You have earned that high bounty on your head, but I think I want you as a pet." Her mouth twists into a wicked smirk. "Let's dance." She flicks her wrist and releases two more pokemon, a meditite who immediately mega evolves and a Garniovor who does the same both directing attacks at Emmet.
Emmet shows no mercy I. The battle but even so he is only one guy and three pokemon against one is not a fair fight no matter how you slice it. He manages to get the upper hand as he knocks out the garchomp he isn't bleeding thanks to the curse but he feels the exhaustion in his bones as the fight wears on. He managed to block a psychic from one and a focus blast was blocked by a protect. Fleeting thoughts rushed around like he should have brought his own pokemon.
The woman takes out a pistol from her pocket and aims it at Emmet. The gun fires Emmet is too busy fighting off the two pokemon to notice, but Lucas does and he rushes forth not even noticing his body begin to change as he uses a move he has never used before. A moon blast crashes between the three fighting pokemon and shatters the incoming bullet. Lucas can't feel his right arm, and he notices it right next to him being taken by a siscor.
Emmet growls and goes for a night slash but the woman and her pokemon vanish. Emmet collapses to his knees, exhausted, taking over his entire frame as he shakes. He looks behind him in horror as he sees Lucas in shock staring at where his arm is supposed to be. Emmet forces himself back up and by Lucas using ember to cauterize the wound. He can see Lucas collapse next to him as he barely has time to call the first number he sees before he loses consciousness.
……
Lucas woke up to an unfamiliar place his heart was beating out of his chest and his arm hurt. He looked over to where his right arm should be, and found nothing, he was covered in bandages, and his right arm was gone. He could feel the blood pounding against his ears, and his body was starting to go numb as he started to panic. His arm was fucking gone, he didn't know where he was, and she almost killed him, she was right there.
A mess of blonde hair nearly tackled Lucas. "Whoa buddy relax I got your call a day ago and found you nearly bleeding out. Mas- my mom came by as fast as she could when I told her what I found. Dud I thought you were dead, and you were with the exiled champion. Dude what the fuck, I mean you didn't tell me he was also half pokemon nor that he was protecting you, amd you evolved, totally not cool not telling me." Barry sighs over Lucas who was pulled away from his panic by Barry talking a mile a minute.
Lucas blinks and takes a deep breath and exhales with a weak smile. "You saved us from the ripper." He flinched when Barry started to yell.
"You two were fighting the ripper?! The exiled champion didn't even have a scratch on him that's fucking amazing. I mean it's not cool you're missing an arm and stuff but still you didn't die." Barry gets up. "I'll tell mom that you're up, uh the exiled champion hasn't woken up yet but he is healthy and fine. Oh yeah a guy named Volo keeps trying to call you, and there's a weird blonde Cynthia lookalike here, but master is handling him but he hasn't left yet." He points at Lucas. "Your pokemon are healed and waiting outside, and you owe me all the details or I'm suing you." He says running off to tell his family.
Lucas smiles softly as a panic attack forced away from the whirlwind that is Barry. He sighs now looking himself over and he notices the new skin ribbons that were all over, he had to get used to them. He didn't even feel the evolution take place, he was protecting Emmet, but Barry said Emmet didn't have any injuries. Lucas sighs groaning as he got up, he was unbalanced from his missing arm, but he moved forward on unstable feet.
A growing commotion can be heard as shouting went down the hall. Barry's home was very traditional, all one floor. The one he had in Twinleaf was more modern but he only stayed there for school, and it was his father's home. He took slow steps to the sound of the shouting as he used his left hand to balance against the wall. The voices were getting much clearer as he approached closer.
"I will not stop until I am allowed to see my lord again, now I demand entry into this home." Lucas recognized that voice it was Volo. His own voice was quiet probably from screaming the day before, so he moved closer.
"Lord? You shameful cultists, I won't let you enter this home." That was Crasher Wake, he was protective for good reason, but Volo wasn't a cultist, he was just uh…. Ok Lucas had no idea what he was but he was just talking about Emmet.
"Wake your diplomatic approach isn't working let me take care of this pest." The cold calm voice was Barry's mother, she was scary and off putting with her icy nature.
Lucas was out of breath by the time he made it to the entrance where everyone was gathered. His voice was quiet but he used one of his new flesh ribbons to pound on the wall getting everyone's attention. "That's uh mister Volo, he is uh here for Emmet." He frowns as Wake rushes to his side to help him lean on him for support. "Uh Emmet is the exiled champion."
Volo huffs. "I told you, now let me in or I will be forced to use force." He growls hand on his pokeball for Persephone, which had the type advantage, but Volo didn't know that.
The tall blue haired woman steps aside letting Volo inside who rushes over to Lucas's side. "What happened? You're missing an arm, fuck." He steps back glaring at Wake who was glaring right back at him. He takes a deep breath. "Are you ok? Do you need blood? Do you need me to kill someone for you?"
Lucas frowns and uses his left hand to grab onto Volo. "I didn't mean to worry you. I know sir Emmet is more important, but uh I'm ok you don't have to…" he trails off and gives a startled yelp as Volo pulls him into a hug. He was speaking in a language that he couldn't understand but he felt a wet spot on his shoulder where Volo was crying.
Volo lets go and scowls at Wake who looks shocked. "Oh fuck off that's my native tongue." He sighs. "You need to go back to bed, you're going to pop open your stitches at this point." He turns to the blue haired woman. "This is obviously your home, why didn't you keep him in bed."
Lucas gives a soft plee to stop, but the woman cuts him off. "Sapphire, that's my name, use it, and I was preoccupied keeping you out." She looks to Wake. "Make sure my son doesn't make him get up again, but let them stay together. I know my son is a lot but he helps stop Lucas from spiraling."
Lucas blushes. "Thank you, Miss Sapphire." He lets go of Volo and lets Wake take him back to bed.
Volo frowns as this woman eyes him up and down. "You're the cursed one." She watches Volo raise a brow.
"I haven't been called that in ages, it makes sense with the house that you know the crude legends spread about me. Most have been forgotten to time." He sighs. "Just let me see my lord, and then you can do whatever you want to me."
She hums. "You've already been punished enough, you don't need anything I could inflict." She leads him to where Emmet is sleeping. "You gave him your curse didn't you."
Volo shakes his head no. "So you're one that actually kept the true story intact I'm impressed, but if you must know we went to ask for Arecus to reverse my curse. I brought an offering, and a speech. They forgot what they did and thought it would be amusing to curse my lord with the same curse I bare then laughed at us." He looks up and is met with a neutral face.
"The old god is cruel even when you beg for forgiveness after you've learned your lesson." She slides the door open to reveal Emmet asleep curled under a blanket. "He has remained asleep since my son found him. The battle looked like it took hours so I am not surprised he collapsed from exhaustion."
Volo nods and places his bag down quietly. "Do you mind if we share tea while I wait for him to wake up? It has been a very long time since I have been able to enjoy a traditional cup of tea."
She nods. "I'll have some ready so we can wait here where he sleeps. It would be wise to have someone he recognizes when he wakes up. Battles no matter who is the victor takes a toll on mental health."
Volo nods and sits on his knees by Emmet's bed side. "I shall wait here Lady Sapphire." He sighs looking down at Emmet brushing a stray hair from his face. "My lord, I apologize for not coming sooner. Lucas is crippled from the fight, and I do not know how to help him. I wish I was stronger for you both." He bows in respect and sits back up waiting for Sapphire to return.

Alright I won't watch one more episode of the CGI motu series.
It's just not for me
Yes, yes it's time for my boring review. And I hope nobody who liked the series will feel insulted or anything by reading it
Ok so like. Months ago I watched the 4 first episodes of the series but never really bothered watching the rest of it because I didn't like it? And I feel that you absolutely don't need to watch every series nor every comic to enjoy MOTU. In fact I was planning to stick to the original and Revelation and maybe watch the 2002 series because well Evil Lyn's design just sold me the show sksksk
Anyway, lately I've seen quite a lot of people say the CGI series was nice and was probably the closest thing to the original series when it comes to ambiance and such. So I was willing to give it a second chance.
And as this Skeletor would say: "MAN". THAT WASN'T THE GREATEST IDEA I HAD TODAY.
But watching more of it helped me highlight what was bothering me with the first episodes.
My brother watch 2 episodes with me and we both had the same feeling: it was "cringe" and some moments were just cringer...Special mention to that time Ram mam was singing in the spaceship. I know for sure that I would have also cringe while watching this scene as a kid.
The second thing is the jokes. FUCKING HELL THE JOKES.
They were so bad. I heard most of them in other movies, series....especially the "I can't hear you you're too far from me" 🙄🙄 Most of them were bad if not fucking making me want to die when they're over explaining them, which they do 1/3 of the time. Plus the timing is SO bad. This series doesn't know when it wants to be serious or when it wants to be funny! Like CHOOSE BUT DON'T DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. There are some like. Important, dramatic scenes and you throw an unfunny joke in the middle of it like what??
Talking about it THE AMBIANCE. WHY IS IT SO EDGY?? Like. The whole
Adam: I was kidnapped by my uncle and forgot my past
Ram mam: my parents died and I was stuck in their spaceship and I'm claustrophobic
Teela: I was always alone and had to fight to survive
Cringer: I fought a poacher who took away from me my claws and some members of my tribe
The fuck?? It's not because you randomly throw tragic backstories that your characters becomes actual characters. They're still fucking flat as fuck.
Okay I think now is a good time to talk about Skeletor. First thing first, I've never liked the whole "Skeletor is actually Adam's uncle" thing cause I don't know what it adds except some shakespearian bullshit that doesn't really mean munch. I like the idea of Skeletor just being the way he is and all just because it's fun and it's what he's like? In my eyes he doesn't need a backstory but I was like. Okay, roule ma poule, do what you want I'll just go along with it for this time (and this time only). I thought he was the most okay character. I mean, as long as he has fun doing evil stuff, it's Skeletor.
But two things.
First: that scene. That oh so cringe scene in which they're making fun of Skeletor's name and over explaining the joke again, even though you get it when you know his deadname (I said what I said) and Adam saying "we don't give a fuck" SO WHY DID YOU ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT IT. Also the Skeletor saying "man that was long" (I don't remember the exact sentence)??? ABSOLUTE NO. I don't wanna be that guy, which is ironic, I'm that guy since the beginning of this post, but Skeletor don't say "man" like that. Skeletor had some vocabulary in the original series and like. That is important. He was dominating the other villains even in his language....I won't say every thought I had but know that it was at this point that I started thinking "okay that's enough". But the way Teela shush Evil-Lyn rubbed me the wrong way too but the thing that really made me stop is that moment when Skeletor said something like "I wonder if your father will be sad when I'll make your corpse roll to his feet" LIKE???
EXCUSE ME WHAT
THE FUCK. I remember reblogging a post about motu saying "Most series/comics got motu wrong. He-Man and Skeletor would never threaten to kill each others" and I completely agree with this person. I think I've watched half of all episodes of the original series and Skeletor threatened one (1) time to kill He-Man by saying "you wouldn't survive this fall". And that's it. I can't believe that even this series made Skeletor said that...
I know what you're gonna say now, to justify the bad jokes and all: "it's just a kid show"
And you know what I'll answer? Netflix She-Ra. It's also a kid show, the jokes are good, it knows when it can makes jokes, when it has to be serious, the characters are not all fucking dumb for no reason...
In the end I felt like watching a bad fan fiction's adaptation. Like. I encourage bold reboot/new adaptation. Once again, I think Netflix She-Ra did that very well. But this one? No thank you, no more. I feel like they took only the shell of motu, not what makes it motu, especially when it comes to the characters...especially Adam. I didn't find that softness and kindness he has in the original and in revelation. I didn't feel like he's considerate. Just helpful.
Of course not everything I have to say is negative. Even though I wasn't found of the character design, the whole thing is really pretty, and I especially liked the villains' transformation! I wasn't expecting it to be so...horrific. I'm glad that I watched until that moment
But what's the point of watching it if I don't like the story that is told to me?
I'm sad I couldn't enjoy it like some of you. It strengthen my thought of only enjoying what I like/might like and I thank it for that.
#motu#my silly little reactions#also strengthen me in making my own motu thing sksk#probably will delete this

You know, you didn't talk much about your spouse. Maybe you can talk more about him? Like, what are his pokemon, role in the lab if any, how you and he gotten together, etc. I'm sure your followers would love to know who the pillar of your support really is.
You’re right, i suppose i’m the less romantic of us haha! I have always been a bit private about it all, just a habit. Professor Grey has been with me for 6 years now, he’s a water and fighting type specialist, and is expanding his research to Dragon types currently. His actual title is “Items Specialist” as he forges, builds, and creates things that help pokemon to live, such as prosthetic limbs, items to boost attack stats, or actual weapons to wield. he knows a lot about held items, including stones, and often can be found creating in his workshop. Its a good sized space, a cross between an office and a blacksmiths workshop. We have a 3D printer but i hardly know how to use it. He’s very good with computers and various machines. I tend to be more reliant on Rotom and Porygon to help me muddle through it, suppose i’m a little old fashioned, prefer pen and paper. We both grew up in Johto, did our training here, and traveled to Kanto afterwards, though we never knew each other at this point. We almost traced our steps, i’m a year older than him, and began my official journey a year before he did. He’s an avid kite surfer, always ready to help, and despite his 6′3ft stature, he’s just one big gentle giant. He’s the calm to my storm, we have always just balanced each other out. Its funny how you can cross paths with someone so often and never even realise there going to be the person you want to spend your life with. We must have been in the same street at least a dozen times as kids before we even knew one and other, we have talked about our adventure years and the dates matched up, we just seemed to always miss each other by a day or two at the most. Oh boy, how we met haha, thats a story I haven’t told many people. We actually both went to the same college and the same university, we even interacted between classes, and some of them crossed over. We had basic medical classes together, though I ignored him for a long while. I was never much for socialising, never really talked to others, was very happy alone, and he just drew people to him. He would speak and everyone would listen, and he would make a joke and everyone would laugh. he lit up the room, so i just let the whole class get on and stayed out of it. It wasn’t until we were in our second year at uni that I caught him handling a baby spinarak, something i’ve seen MANY trainers and even professors reel from. Back when we studied, it was a little bit taboo to be a bug trainer, another reason i kept to myself, i really liked them. SO Grey is sitting there, with this thing on his head, and everyones screaming to get it out of the class, and he’s just.....really calm? loves the thing, lets it play, then simply takes it to the window and puts it on a bush just outside. I think it was that point where i realised he wasn't just another class clown, there was something gentle in there. After that I vaguely payed attention to him, seemed to be smart, and had a fair judgement, plus I found his ‘dad jokes’ terrible, and loved it. Cheese just kind of is my thing, not that I let him know that. The months went by and we said little to nothing to each other, though he did try to chat with me, I tended to cut it short and move along to get work done or to avoid any anxiety that people would bring. And then one day, between classes while I went off to get some coffee, he was there, and we just sort of got talking. We talked for so long, we missed our next classes. He was smart, and funny, and surprisingly kind. At the time our pokemon were happy to hang together, all apart from Booker (My Teddiursa), who was still in recovery. He had a Houndour, Poliwhirl, Gloom and Riolu back then, but they've since evolved. We eventually became friends, did some good work together and began hanging out outside of classes. He seemed to be so social and so energetic, and i was a real quiet grouch, but he never made me go anywhere too crowded, or pushed me to do stuff i was uncomfortable with. We went on forest walks, and spent time at the seaside, checked out quiet coffee shops while out, went to comic book shops together. It was very calm to have a friend, felt good. eventually we graduated, he went on to do more study and I went to work with Rangers, took some time for myself to chase after Rocket Goons and poachers. Between work we would meet up, we celebrated the day he passed his extra classes, and again held a party when I got the grant to open the lab on the island, and class it as a reserve. We had about half a year apart, where I was busy building a small home on the island, a temporary cabin so I could work in peace and help pokemon. When he finished his work, he came to find me on the island, and from there we just kind of slowly fell for each other. He’s everything I am not, and for that i’m grateful. It was a natural progression to have him move to the island. we built our home together, we saw the lab become a hub of life, brick by brick, and went on lots of adventures side by side. I suppose i did spend a long time trying to ignore any developing feelings. Figured he’s a colleague and that would be unprofessional, but i suppose whats meant for you doesn't miss you. I dont think i’d have admitted it back then but i certainly was lonely, i had no humans around me at all for a long time, just my pokemon team. He came along and showed me that its ok to rely on people, and be a little vulnerable sometimes. Out of the two of us, he is the gentlest, and kindest individual, with more patience and a lot of tolerance for things. I am the hot head idiot with a short fuse. His team is now a Houndoom, Poliwrath, Lucario, Caracosta, Cubone, and Tyrogue. His Gloom evolved and is part of our care system, so he’s not officially on his carried team anymore, but is otherwise happy and healthy. In the lab he’s the tech guy, and certainly deals with any water types who I personally cant handle. His knowledge of items means we have a wide selection of things to help trainers and pokemon, and he’s constantly experimenting with new items. Together we chase off Grunts and hunt down Poachers, though he does have to vanish before the police turn up, as i’m the only one with a Ranger Licence. Without him i’d be lost, he makes the worst days bearable, and the best days incredible. We support each others dreams and ambitions, he’s accepted my sexuality, and is very understanding when I go off on one ranting about whatever it is thats got me all riled up. I never thought I could be so happy, and hopefully he feels the same. Our teams have become one big family, we interchange pokemon very well now, and know them like the backs of our hands. Even his three Gyarados are gentle with me, they know i’m a little nervous with water types and just stay nice and low to the ground to let me pet them and say hello. Grey is my best friend, and I think thats why we work so well. Maybe we are polar opposites, maybe we do have different opinions, but together theres a real strength, something we couldn't do alone.

I think the worst one for his family to find out about him healing would be if he said, "I did have to use some of my feathers to survive the Titans Tower attack." While refusing to look at Jason. Or maybe he could mention that due to being a bird, his bones are hollow and more fragile than humans. What if he had unknown to his family used a feather during training? Just. One of them managed to hit him in the side of the head and Tim goes down. But a few moments later he's up and holding the side of his head where they hit him, groaning. Whoever did it gets a lecture and Tim is benched until his "concussion" is healed.
I also love your thing about Tim not being able to feel the positive emotions as deeply either. It's heart breaking but makes sense. I wonder if his refusal to show anger or joy would lead to his family thinking he has some kind of neurological disorder where he physically can't feel those emotions as strongly and try to send him to therapy so that he can get some kind of medication to help with that.
I currently have two ideas for how the family could find out and neither are pleasant for anyone involved. On the one hand, Tim catching the attention of Scarecrow because his fear gas doesn't seem to effect him as much (it does, but Tim's greatest fear in this one is loosing control of his emotions and letting his instincts take over so as soon as he gets gassed he's trying to keep everything under control so he can "hide his wings again" even though they never came out) so he ends up making an extra powerful version juuust for Tim that would have even Bruce kicking and screaming. He lures the Bats into his hide out with some canisters of regular fear gas and then somehow manages to get Tim with a dart full of the special formula.
Of course everyone freaks out as Tim's breathing picks up speed and he starts to back away from them, pulling into himself. They try to say things but he clearly can't hear them as he covers down and whimpers about something needing to go away, that no one is allowed to see it, that no one can *know*. Scarecrow isn't happy though and yells, "scream! Why aren't you screaming?! You're the only one I've never heard *scream*!" Bruce takes down Scarecrow quickly and hauls him out of the room so they can focus on Tim, trying to get near him. But when Dick touches his arm to try and ground him, a panic that Tim can't possibly smother races through him and he lashes out, claws and wings extending as he tries to get away. Tim screams at them, "NO I WONT BE SOLD FOR WHAT I AM, ILL KILL YOU!"
Then on the other hand, possibly even worse, some poachers come around Gothem with a device that scans for magical creatures. They don't know who this guy with black hair and blue eyes In a suit is and they don't care. They don't have any idea what he is either, beyond that he's a paycheck if they can grab him. Tim doesn't fight back really hard when they come for him, thinking that it's his turn with the monthly family kidnapping of some idiot who went "if I kidnap a Wayne I can ransom them to Bruce for a lot of money". It's not until the car door closes and he feels the magical wards around the van that he begins to truly panic and fight, but the wards are up and doing their job, acting as a powerful sedative that Tim has no defense against as he slips unconscious. When he wakes up, it's his worst nightmares come to life. He's stuck in a cage and his Glamor is gone and there are people leering at him and talking about how much money a *thing* like him will make them.
By the time the Bats manage to get there though, Tim has been sold off to the highest bidder and the Bats are informed that these people only deal in Magical Creatures. They tell the Bats that it's no wonder they didn't know what he is because his species hold what they are as their deepest secret. After all, they inform the Bats, the poachers did sell the Phoenix to Circe herself for 6 million dollars.
Both of those are absolutely delectable. I am more partial to the Scarecrow one (just cause ofnTim having some type of "immunity" which inspires Scarecrow to increase his formula is a really interesting concept).
The poachers one is super cool too! There's a ton of ways that can unfold. I am curious if the device they use is rare/expensive. Otherwise, lots of folks could figure him out.
The tidbit you added about the fragile bones is devastating. Poor Tim is just trying to live his life when the hits he takes do more damage to him than the others (which can add onto his angst of not being enough).
